The Winnipeg Freeriders FUNdamentalz program was designed to introduce young skiers to all aspects of freestyle skiing. FUNdamentalz' developmentally appropriate activities are based on HIGH FIVE™ Principles to support the social, emotional and physical development of children in easy to follow formats.
All young athletes will learn skills such as basic terrain park use and safety, halfpipe and mogul skiing (when available), parallel carving and switch skiing, and basic rails and jumping.
FUNdamentalz athletes will be encouraged to participate in a season ending FUN Freestyle session. They will show off their skills learned throughout the year, to their friends and family! Potential FUNdamentalz skiers need to be able to load the chair lift and use the rope tow unassisted. They typically should be able ski all blue runs comfortably in a wide stacked stance.
