The Winnipeg Freeriders FUNdamentalz program was designed to introduce young skiers to all aspects of freestyle skiing. FUNdamentalz' developmentally appropriate activities are based on HIGH FIVE™ Principles to support the social, emotional and physical development of children in easy to follow formats.
All young athletes will learn skills such as basic terrain park use and safety, halfpipe and mogul skiing (when available), parallel carving and switch skiing, and basic rails and jumping.
FUNdamentalz athletes will be encouraged to participate in a season ending FUN Freestyle session. They will show off their skills learned throughout the year, to their friends and family! Potential FUNdamentalz skiers need to be able to load the chair lift and use the rope tow unassisted. They typically should be able ski all blue runs comfortably in a wide stacked stance.

Our development program is designed for skiers who have the passion to build stronger skiing and freestyle skills with an eye on future competition. A passion to learn new tricks and progression in all disciplines of freestyle are a must.
The Development Program maintains a general skills set, teaching all aspects of freestyle skiing such as moguls, slopestyle, halfpipe (where applicable), and aerials, but with more advanced techniques. This will include qualifying off axis and inverts on tramp, snow and airbag/water-ramp.
Freeriders developmental athletes will have the opportunity, at an additional cost, to attend trampoline, airbag / water ramp and on snow training camps and will be encouraged to compete in all local freestyle competitions. Competition fees, Lift tickets & airbag season pass, and dryland, are NOT included in the program. Early season on snow coaching is included when snow is available and local hills open.
